Comcast pledges support to military community

Comcast today reaffirmed its leadership as the employer and service provider of choice for the military community in Pennsylvania, Ohio, West Virginia and Maryland at a ceremony attended by military leaders as well as senior leadership from Comcast.  In recognition of this effort, Comcast officials signed the Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR) Statement of Support, pledging Comcast’s ongoing efforts to hire and support members of the National Guard and Reserve components.

The ceremony included Colonel Ros Gammon, Commander, 2nd Brigade, 28th Infantry Division, Pennsylvania Army National Guard; Commander Don Haley, Commanding Officer of the Naval Operations Support Center, Pittsburgh; Lieutenant Colonel Michele Papakie, 171st Air Refueling Wing, Pennsylvania Air National Guard; Mr. Nicholas Krawec, Navy Veteran and Chairperson of the Southwestern Pennsylvania Area Committee of the Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve; Pennsylvania State Representative Rick Saccone; and members of Comcast’s VetNet Employee Support Group.

Comcast Vice President for Veteran and Military Affairs, Brigadier General (Ret) Carol Eggert and Regional Vice President Christine Whitaker hosted the ceremony.

Comcast has committed to hire 10,000 Veterans, National Guard and Reserve Members, and Military Spouses before the end of 2017.  Military employees are provided enhanced benefits including supplemental pay, a military concierge service team and Military Spouse benefits.
