Comcast’s Keystone Region hosted a special weekend for our partners at the LaRosa Boys & Girls Club in McKeesport, PA Nov. 24-26 by coordinating a visit from Comcast NBCUniversal’s Sunday Night Football Bus and sending three well-deserving club members to the Sunday Night Football game between the host Pittsburgh Steelers and Green Bay Packers.
Dozens of club members were excited to tour the bus, getting a glimpse of the technology used in the production of the game, seeing a replica of the Lombardi Trophy and sitting behind a replica of the Football Night in America desk. They also snapped photos in front of the life-size player wall.
“This is a very special day for our kids and we’re grateful to Comcast for giving them this opportunity,” said Jim Barry, director of the LaRosa Boys & Girls Club. Barry also attended the game, accompanying the students who were chosen due to their interest in technology and engineering and their dedication to leadership, academics and community service.
McKeesport Councilman Timothy Brown, city administrator Tom Maglicco and Mayor Michael Cherepko were on hand for the bus visit, which was covered by local NBC affiliate WPXI-TV and by the Mon Valley Independent newspaper.
