Comcast’s community investment projects support Brooke County Library, Boys and Girls Clubs and FOCUS Pittsburgh

Recently, Comcast helped upgrade technology at the Brooke County Library in Wellsburg, West Virginia.  Read more about the initiative here.  Fourteen computer monitors, keyboards and mice are being replaced through a $5,000 grant from Comcast, offering library patrons wider screens and easier-to-read keyboards.

In Harrisburg, Comcast’s donation of more than 100 computers and peripherals to the Boys and Girls Club will provide equipment for the Club’s Club Tech at three different locations throughout Harrisburg.  Club Tech helps Clubs incorporate technology into their operations, allowing young people to develop technology skills necessary to succeed in school and the job market.

“Comcast supports Boys and Girls Clubs because Clubs change lives,” said Lynn Holmgren, Comcast’s Vice President of Customer Care and Boys & Girls Club board member.  “Boys & Girls Clubs’ Club Tech helps kids and teens develop essential skills, make lasting connections and have fun.”

In Pittsburgh, the Comcast Business team recently helped FOCUS Pittsburgh prepare backpacks filled with food for the more than 2,000 children FOCUS Pittsburgh serves.  These children are given bags each Friday to help feed them during the weekend when school breakfast and lunch options are not available.  Click here to learn more about the impact this project had on the employees who participated.
