Comcast Re-Launches Fugitive Files on Xfinity On Demand

Partnership with Allegheny County Sheriff’s Office Delivers Assistance

In Apprehending “Most Wanted” Fugitives

PITTSBURGH, PA (November 8, 2018)  – Comcast today announced that it has once again joined forces with the Allegheny County Sheriff’s Office on an initiative to enhance public safety. “Fugitive Files,” now available through Comcast’s signature Xfinity On Demand service, is a unique public service program that uses video on demand to alert residents of most-wanted fugitives and garner community help in locating them.

“Fugitive Files” contains photographs and short descriptions of each fugitive. Viewers who recognize a fugitive or have information that could lead to their apprehension can call the Allegheny County Sheriff’s Office to make a report and have the option to remain anonymous.

The Allegheny County Sheriff’s Office will identify which fugitives to feature, and will make regular updates to the service. Each criminal profiled on “Fugitive Files” is wanted by the Allegheny County Sheriff’s Office on a fugitive warrant for violent crimes including murder, assault, and gang violence, among others.

Xfinity TV customers can find “Fugitive Files” under the Get Local section of Xfinity On Demand. Customers with X1 can simply say “Fugitive Files” into their voice remote to quickly access the content.

“The Allegheny County Sheriff’s Office is proud once again to partner with Comcast in a collaborative effort to keep Allegheny County safe,” said Kevin Kraus, chief deputy of the Allegheny County Sheriff’s Office. “This initiative has proven to be successful and a valuable law enforcement asset in arresting dangerous fugitives throughout Allegheny County.”

“Comcast is proud to partner with the Allegheny County Sheriff’s Office to help make the Pittsburgh area safer,” said Lisa Birmingham, vice president of external and government affairs for Comcast’s Keystone Region.
