Celebrate the Season with Xfinity

It’s the most wonderful time of the year, and as we come together with our family and friends, Xfinity is here to help make the holiday season even more special. We have worked throughout the year to bring more technology, convenience and control to our customers – we increased Internet speeds and coverage at no additional cost, added more entertainment options to X1, enhanced home automation features, and more. From online shopping to decompressing on the couch, here’s how you can use your Xfinity services to make your holiday merry and bright.

 Wrap up your gift giving

This year we delivered our 17th speed increase in 17 years for Internet customers and became the nation’s largest provider of Gigabit broadband for both residential and business customers – with these fast, reliable speeds you can finish up your online holiday shopping in no time, even while other people in the house are streaming or gaming. And if you’re shopping in secret, far from prying eyes and your router, our xFi Pods can help to extend your WiFi coverage to your more remote rooms. Later, when the packages are delivered, new Xfinity Home security camera features can help protect your deliveries from real-life Grinches.

Get cozy on the couch

When it’s finally time to relax in front of the television, you have a lot of options. Just last week we added Amazon Prime Video to the X1 platform – alongside the Netflix app – so you can binge watch hits like Jack Ryan, The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, Homecoming and more just by saying, “Show me Prime Video” into the X1 Voice Remote. You can also find your favorite movies On Demand by quoting them into the voice remote: “Yippee-ki-yay” will bring you to Die Hard, and “Merry Christmas, ya filthy animal” serves up Home Alone in seconds. Or you can choose a TV show to catch up on – the most watched series on Xfinity On Demand in Pittsburgh this year were Game of Thrones, This is Us and Shameless. Meanwhile, sports fans can access live games, check scores, watch highlights and extras, and receive notifications on their TV with the Xfinity X1 Sports App.

Rock around the Christmas tree

You can look to Xfinity to help make your holiday party even more festive. Control your holiday lights from wherever you are with the Xfinity Home mobile app. Or say Xfinity Home, Grinch is Homeinto your X1 voice remote to turn your connected LiFX or Phillips Hue lights green. To bring atmosphere to your gathering, fire up the Yule Log screensaver in the “Free to Me” collection On Demand. Or go to the Pandora or iHeartRadio apps on X1 for dozens of seasonal music options.

Connect with loved ones

Xfinity xFi makes it easy to get new devices online, but just because everyone unwraps new toys doesn’t mean screen time needs to take over the holiday. With xFi you can help your family reconnect offline by setting time limits or pausing your home’s WiFi connection.

Travel over the river and through the woods

If you’re traveling for the holidays, you can still take your favorite shows and movies along for the ride with the Xfinity Stream app. Xfinity TV customers can also now sync their Movies Everywhere accounts and access them on Xfinity Stream app as well as Xfinity X1 and other Xfinity TV platforms. And stay connected on the road with the latest devices and Xfinity Mobile.

However you’re celebrating – at home or on the road, hosting or visiting, going big or keeping it low key – we love being a part of it. From all of us at Comcast in Pennsylvania, Ohio, West Virginia and Maryland, happy holidays to our customers and warm wishes for the New Year.
