When Tony Ramirez transitioned from working as a producer for a local radio station to Comcast’s inbound sales team, it wasn’t as unusual as it might seem. “As a producer, your job is basically to do everything so that the host can just talk and deliver the news,” said Tony. As an inbound sales agent, this is still Tony’s philosophy about how to serve Comcast’s residential customers.
“We recently streamlined our packages, made them easier to understand and are now including HD services and Netflix in our most popular packages,” he said. “I go to work every day knowing that we have superior offerings that are reliable and make our customers’ lives easier. It’s like we’re providing them a gateway to the universe.”
When it’s time to go to work, Tony doesn’t have to go very far because he’s one of Comcast’s work-from-home employees, an option available in some departments for Comcasters who demonstrate self-motivation and exceed certain goals. Tony’s ability to work from his home in suburban Pittsburgh has helped him balance the demands of work with care for his teen son.
When Tony isn’t helping Xfinity customers learn about internet, video, mobile and home security services, he’s playing the guitar with local bands during weekend gigs. While music has been a lifelong passion, Tony’s 14-year career with Comcast is a close second. “It’s just a great work environment with a supportive team who are like family to me.”
