Toni Murphy Named New Pittsburgh Courier Woman of Excellence

December 12, 2019 – PITTSBURGH, PA – Toni Murphy, Comcast’s Vice President of Sales and Marketing, was named one of the New Pittsburgh Courier’s Women of Excellence. The newspaper’s readers submitted nominations of Pittsburgh-area African-American women who made contributions in business, healthcare, government, education and the arts.

Toni is an accomplished leader with over 10 years of experience in the cable and telecommunications industry and serves as co-chair of the Allegheny Conference’s Our Next 75 initiative. She joined Comcast in 2008 as Manager, Financial and Strategic Planning where she supported key mergers and acquisitions activity and developed long-range plans for the Business Services division. She subsequently held positions in the Chicago and California Regions in Business Support & Analytics and Business Development, respectively, before joining Comcast’s Keystone Region as Vice President of its Project Management Organization.  In 2016, she was promoted to Regional Vice President for Comcast Business, serving 100,000 business customers in four states and in 2019 she took on the role of Vice President, Sales & Marketing for Comcast’s Keystone Region.

Prior to joining Comcast, Toni gained valuable transaction experience working in private equity at The Gores Group and in investment banking at UBS Investment Bank. Toni’s honors include being named as one of Cablefax Magazine’s Most Influential Minorities in 2018 and 2019, one of National Association for Multi-ethnicity in Communication’s Next Generation Leaders, the 2018 Greater Pittsburgh ATHENA Young Professional Award, Pittsburgh Magazine’s 40 Under 40 Award, The Incline’s Who’s Next in Technology and a 2019 Women of Influence award winner by the Pittsburgh Business Times.

She holds a B.A. from Princeton University and is an active leader in professional and social organizations including Women in Cable & Telecom, Big Brothers/Big Sisters and Strong Women Strong Girls.
