Comcast’s Employees are Invested in Westmoreland County

From Greensburg to Irwin, Comcast’s employees are invested in Westmoreland County communities.  When they’re not working to deliver a great customer experience, employees like Matthew Heppner, Mark Spiker, Jennifer Rudd and Cheryl McCabe are volunteering in their local communities.

Comcast makes volunteering easy, having hosted Comcast Cares Day projects at the Westmoreland County Food Bank for many years and encouraging Comcast’s employee resource groups to lead projects at local organizations like Animal Friends Westmoreland. Employees and their families have worked more than 700 hours over the past three years to support the food bank and other local organizations who serve places like Greensburg, Latrobe, Irwin, Murrysville and Mt. Pleasant.

In addition to Comcast Cares Day, the company provides high school scholarships each year through the Leaders & Achievers Scholarship program. Local winners during the past three years have included students from Greensburg Salem High School, Hempfield Area High School and Jeannette Senior High School. In addition, Comcast employees participate in Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Laurel Region’s Lunch Buddy Program in Greensburg and Jeannette.

The company’s commitment to the community includes investing in Xfinity Stores in Irwin and Greensburg, both located in convenient spots for busy customers. Comcast’s Xfinity Stores provide customers an immersive destination to discover and interact directly with the latest Xfinity products and services. The opening of new Xfinity stores is part of Comcast’s multi-year strategy to transform the customer experience; the stores provide new and existing customers a place to learn how to optimize their Xfinity services and to address any service needs.

Customers who visit Xfinity Stores can learn about the unmatched video experience of the X1 platform; how Xfinity xFi uses the fastest internet speeds and AI-powered security to transform the home WiFi experience; a growing network of Xfinity Home smart home devices and services; and the advantages inherent in Xfinity Mobile.  When Westmoreland County customers are away from home, they have access to more than 5,700 outdoor WiFi hotspots in the region along with 14 Xfinity Stores throughout the Pittsburgh region.
