City Church of New Castle Continues Services Virtually with Comcast Business

Local community church relies on Comcast Business internet solutions to stream worship services amidst health crisis

NEW CASTLE, PA – MAY 27, 2020 – Comcast Business today announced its providing City Church of New Castle, with reliable and scalable internet solutions needed to stream services during state social distancing and shelter in place mandates.

Founded in the summer of 2019, City Church of New Castle is a newer community church, that since early 2020, has been conducting weekly worship services at The Riverplex in downtown New Castle. When the COVID-19 pandemic required them to move their Sunday and mid-week services solely online, City Church knew they would require access to fast and reliable internet service in order to continue to reach their congregation.

After experiencing difficulties streaming services from a smartphone, they turned to Comcast Business Internet for the speed and bandwidth needed to support this. The internet services were up and running quickly – enabling City Church to live stream their worship services in high definition on their social media page the following week. Having reliable internet has also allowed them to pre-record and upload their mid-week services.

“We at City Church can’t thank Comcast Business enough. We were in a real jam trying to figure out the best way to stream our worship services, and they really went above and beyond to get us up and running in a day,” said Pastor Josh Watts of City Church of New Castle. “Since gaining access to the internet to offer our services virtually, we’ve been able to attract new members of our community and regularly have hundreds of local viewers tuning in to worship with us each week.”

“Whether it’s recent changes in how we eat, play, worship or work, there’s one commonality needed to ensure we can connect and engage with one another – and that’s reliable technology solutions,” said Aaron Mimran, Vice President of Business Services for Comcast’s Keystone Region. “We are proud to help community institutions like City Church of New Castle continue to make a difference in the lives and well-being of our fellow neighbors, especially at a time when we all need it most.”
