How did Brittany Skerski-Weaver’s cake decorating skills help her become an award-winning regional account executive at Comcast? Delighting customers is a passion she developed during the six years she worked at Kretchmar’s Bakery in Beaver, Pennsylvania. Along with learning how to make florets and how to pipe icing, Brittany learned how to listen to customers’ needs, offer creative solutions and exceed their expectations – all important skills that have helped her become successful on Comcast’s indirect sales team.
When she joined the team three years ago, Comcast’s investment in her development included leadership development programs and tuition reimbursement for her to start a business management degree through Southern New Hampshire University. The new skills these programs have helped Brittany build have led her to make a big impact in a short period of time, earning the Directors Coin, a Quarterly Player Award and her region’s Most Spirited Champion Award. These honors recognize her performance, efforts in mentoring, and overall involvement in the organization.
That involvement has included leading one of Comcast’s employee resource groups, the Young Professionals Network (YPN). Last year, Brittany helped YPN lead a “puppy pawty” at the Beaver County Humane Society to raise money for the shelter while giving YPN members an opportunity to network. She’s also helped organize YPN’s golf tournament benefitting the United Way for the past 2 years. With so many employees working from home now, Brittany has helped plan YPN Fireside Chats each week that allow members to meet virtually with a Comcast leader to learn more about their career journey.
“My favorite thing about Comcast is that I am able to be myself, and actually get rewarded for that,” said Brittany. Hard work is definitely recognized here and the opportunities are endless.” Learn more about Comcast’s job opportunities and culture.
