This month, members of our Unidos employee resource group found lots of ways to give back to the communities we live and work in. Committee leads served dinner to residents at the East End Cooperative Ministry (EECM) shelter in Pittsburgh and packaged produce at the Central Pennsylvania Food Bank in Harrisburg. Comcasters had the opportunity to eat with EECM residents and to work alongside Central Pennsylvania Food Bank staff.
In addition, Unidos and Comcast’s Young Professionals Network (YPN) hosted a school uniform drive to collect uniforms for Pittsburgh Public School students in need.
“We had a great time getting to know one another better and learning about how the Central Pennsylvania Food Bank services our community,” said Theresa Larios, Unidos co-lead. Employee resource groups are a proven best practice to enhance employee engagement and inclusion at all levels of the organization.
